Rehab center gets
DOH accreditation

The Department of Health recently issued a Certificate of Accreditation as a training institution for massage therapy to the Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center II of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VII, a government press release said.

The accreditation was given after the DOH Committee of Examiners for Massage Therapy assessed the facilities, modules and documents of the center, and found them satisfactory, the press release said.

The certification from the DOH is required under Presidential Decree 856 from massage therapists before practicing and applying their skills.

AVRC II, based in Labangon, Cebu City, is the second accredited training institution for massage therapy in the Visayas and the first of the four vocational rehabilitation centers certified as a training institution nationwide, the press release said.

The other AVRCs are in regions I and IX and in Quezon City, the press release added.*
