Sustainable tourism forum set

Registration will be held November 22 to 23 for the Negros Occidental Environment and Sustainable Tourism Forum at the L’Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City, organized by the Society for Sustainable Tourism and Development Inc., a press release from the organizers said.

Experts and resource persons invited are: Guilberto Borongan, program officer at the Regional Resource Center for Asia and Pacific at the Asian Institute of Technology, Pathumthani, Thailand; Marco Andreozzi, chief executive officer of Pegaso Canton; Carlos Libosada, co-founder of My Travel Asia;

Liza Paguntalan, director for field pperations of Philippines Biodiversity Conservation Foundation Inc.; Reinero Medrano, manager of the Corporate Social Responsibility Department of the Energy Development Corporation;

Jonathan Bulos, director of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environmental Management Bureau Region VI; Wilfred Ramon Penalosa- Provincial Environment Management Office; and

Susan Santos de Cárdenas, Society for Sustainable Tourism and Development Inc.-SSTDI, CEO and president, Sustainability Guru of Asia Pacific specializing on Sustainability projects, Green Hotels and Events with Corporate and Community Social Responsibility at grassroots application.

The forum is co-presented by international partners, Regional Resource Center for Asia and Pacific, Pegaso Canton, Green Hotels Asia, The Clean Blue Asia Pacific and national agencies, Department of Tourism, DENR-EMB, the Office of the Governor of Negros Occidental and its Tourism Office, the Mayor of Bacolod City, and the Energy Development Corporation, the release said.

Sustainability supporters include Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Councilor Em Ang, University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, Provincial Environment Management Office, Philippines Biodiversity Conservation Foundation Inc, Melba’s Farms, Carranz Advertising, YM Travel, Color Ads and Handmade Gallery.
