Puno installed in law
professors’ hall of fame

Justice Ricardo Puno Sr., will be installed today as one of the “Ten Outstanding Senior Professors of Law”, or the “Magnificent 10”, in the Law Professors Hall of Fame by the Legal Education Board Monday at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

The Hall of Fame was established by the Legal Education Board, the agency responsible for the administration of the legal education system in the Philippines.

The LEB, led by Justice Hilarion Aquino, and the Members of the Board and the Committee, in partnership with the Philippine Association of Law Schools and the Ateneo Law School, have also invited Puno to give the response on behalf of the 10 Hall of Famers and 10 posthumous awardees of the honorary title, “Law Professor Emeritus”.

Puno, the founding partner of the Puno and Puno Law offices joins the other Hall of Famers, Fr. Joaquin Bernas, Justice Isagani Cruz, Justice Oscar Herrera Sr., Justice Vicente Mendoza, Chief Justice Andres Narvasa, Justice Florenz Regalado, Justice Lorenzo Relova, Senate President Jovito Salonga and Justice Jose Vitug.

Puno has been teaching law since 1949 in the leading law schools of the country as senior professor and/or Bar Reviewer, and has authored books in Civil Law, and was a Bar Examiner in Civil and Remedial Law.

A former Trial Court Judge, Court of Appeals Justice, Court Administrator, member of the then Batasang Pambansa and Secretary of the Department of Justice, Puno continued to teach law during his government service and private law practice.*
