PCSO office in Bacolod set
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Chairman Margie Juico of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office is arriving in Bacolod City on Wednesday to sign a memorandum of agreement with Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. for the establishment of a PCSO office in Bacolod.

Councilor Carlos Jose Lopez said he started facilitating the matter in 2010 and finally Juico granted it.

Lopez said the PCSO can have its office near the entrance of the Pagla-um Sports Complex with the governor’s help.

He said people usually travel to Iloilo, Cebu or even to Manila to process their medical needs from the PCSO. He said PCSO Cebu and Manila have been coordinating with his office as part of the preparation.

The MOA signing between Marañon and Juico will be witnessed by city and provincial officials, he added.

Lopez said he has also asked the Professional Regulation Commission to put up a satellite office in Bacolod City to help process PRC applications of the people of Bacolod and Negros Occidental.

He said PRC chairman Teresita Mansala informed him that by January 2013, they will assign two people to process PRC applications in the city.*CGS
