MANILA – The Bureau of Internal Revenue almost hit its P86.18 billion collection for October 2012 after revenues rose by 22.13 percent year-on-year, a government press release said.
The BIR said its revenues hit P86.1 billion, up by P15.6 billion than its P70.5 billion same period in 2011.
In the first 10 months this year, the agency collected P858.6 billion, up by 13.45 percent than the P756.79 billion in end-October last year.

Consultants and advisors of the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions for the International Food Exposition 2013 will arrive today in Bacolod City for the phase two evaluation of the 25 small and medium enterprises that have the potential of joining the exhibit next year at the SM Mall of Asia, Lucille Gelvolea, IFEX 2013 secretariat, said yesterday.
Industry Development advisor Rose Kwan, consultant on Food Safety and Quality, and Labeling Requirements Ma. Luz Lizada, and Abner Villahermosa, designer of the Department of Science and Technology will assist SMEs in completing their requirements.
Fisherfolk get engines
San Enrique town Mayor Mario Magno turned over 18 marine engines to two fishermen associations in the municipality recently, a press release from the town said.
Magno said the engines were provided by Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. and were given to the Tabao Baybay Small Fishermen Association and the eight to Sitio Utod Fishermen Association.
He lauded Marañon for helping provide livelihood to the town’s fisherfolks, the press release said.
