A golden celebration

buddai

Members and officers of the Negros Occidental Garden Club held their 50th glorious anniversary celebration on November 17, at the Bacolod Pavillon Resort Hotel and Restaurant.

Lovely ladies in their exquisite and elegant Filipiñana gowns and debonair gentleman in their barongs added glitter and chic to the occasion, that started with the parade of the past presidents of the club, a prayer and the singing of the national anthem, a welcome message by vice president Lourdes Mercado, and the introduction of the guests by past president Nena Nolido.

Baguer Villaluz entertained us with his music of yesteryears and today, during the sumptuous dinner. The anniversary cake was bordered by hundreds of cupcakes, courtesy of Agnes Cuenca. A video presentation down memory lane of the club, from 1962 to present, was also shown.

Negros Occidental first lady, Dr. Marilyn Marañon, congratulated the NOGC officers and members, and the ceremonial toast was led by PP Gloria Tajanlangit, Bacolod City first lady Elsa Leonardia and former Bacolod Mayor Luzviminda Joy Valdez.

The past presidents were also recognized, and loyalty awards presented. Assistant VP Georgina Flores gave the closing remarks, followed by the community singing, to end the program that was emceed by Ivy Visitacion and Cyrus Alcala.

To the NOGC, congratulations and many more anniversary celebrations to come!*

Remember: Worry is a burden that God never intended us to bear. Christ believed is salvation received and heaven gained.*
