The Public Employment Service Office in Bacolod City has recorded 6,119 workers hired and placed through special recruitment activities in September and October, PESO monitoring report showed yesterday.
Moises de la Cruz, PESO manager, said 15 recruitment agencies conducted their SRA with them and have placed 679 workers abroad while the 5,440 were hired for local jobs through Sutherland, Royal Dragon, and government job orders.
PESO has become an avenue for employers to look for qualified applicants while job seekers are provided with various choices for their career, he said.
Among those placed in jobs abroad were service crew personnel, nurses, electricians, welders, hotel workers, masons, domestic helpers, drivers, carpenters, mechanics, technicians, engineers, cleaners, and steel fixers, de la Cruz said.
The recruitment agencies that hired overseas workers were Greenfields, Lead Resources, Placewell, Blazing Star, LV Universal, GBMLT, Ruru Global, MSL Star, Progressive, Global Expertise, STD, Arab Peninsula, Pisces International, New Era, and MAB International, he added.
De la Cruz also assured all jobs seekers that SRAs conducted at PESO do not collect fees and that all agencies are registered with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration.
Meanwhile, Royal Dragon personnel will conduct initial interviews tomorrow and Friday. They need security guards to be deployed locally, he added. *LTG
