DSWD assessment set

A consultation dialog on the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas will be held on Nov. 27-28 at the Cityscape Hotel in Mandaue City, Cebu, a government press release said.

The activity aims to gather feedback and bring out issues and recommendations on the implementation of the second cycle of household assessment. It is expected to be attended by city and town officials, social welfare officers and planning development coordinators, the press release also said.

The DSWD will also report on NHTS-PR database update, that is used as mechanism in identifying household beneficiaries of various social protection programs and services, like the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, rice subsidy for small-scale farmers and fisher folks, and the social pension for senior citizens.

There are 96 local government units in Central Visayas, including Negros Oriental, that have entered into memoranda of agreement with the DSWD for data sharing since 2011. The number represents 72 percent of the total 132 LGUs, the press release said.

DSWD Region 7 director, Ma. Evelyn Macapobre, said the agency is regularly exerting efforts to generate feedbacks from stakeholders as basis to improve the NHTS-PR household assessment, the press release added.*
