Kagawad robbed, minor shot
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

The elusive “Seva brothers”, linked to a series of murder and robbery-hold-up incidents, were tagged as suspects in the hold-up of a kagawad and his wife yesterday in Hacienda Tellang, Brgy. San Pablo, Manapla, Negros Occidental.

Insp. Julius Ceasar Colado, Manapla police officer-in-charge, yesterday identified two of the four armed suspects as Macmac and Bong Seva.

Police investigations show that the Seva brothers, accompanied by two other armed men, robbed kagawad Wilfredo Dolar, his wife and daughter, at gunpoint about 200 meters away from their house at about noon yesterday.

Dolar’s neighbors chased the four suspects, who were armed with .45 caliber and 9mm pistols, Colado said. However, they were fired upon by the fleeing perpetrators, who hit a minor, identified as John Mark Luna, in the back.

Dolar, who was on board his Toyota pick-up, was divested of P120,000 in cash by the four suspects before they fled.

Luna, who was rushed to the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, is out of danger, a police report showed.

The Seva brothers have pending arrest warrants for several counts of murder, in connection with a series of killings in Brgy. Canlusong, EB Magalona.

Senior Supt. Milko Lirazan, officer-in-charge of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, said Wednesday that he may recommend bounties for the arrest of the Seva brothers and other members of their group, who call themselves “The Brothers”.

Numerous robbery-hold-up incidents have taken place in the hinterlands of Manapla, Victorias City, EB Magalona and Silay City, in the past two years, the majority of which have been blamed on the Seva brothers’ group, police reports show.*GPB
