Ceres FC edges Cebu to
top Visayas qualifier

Ceres Football Club beat Cebu, 1-0, yesterday to dominate the Visayas qualifier of the PFF SMART National Club Championships in San Carlos City yesterday.

Earlier, the team from Bacolod City, strengthened by the presence of six Korean players and members of the U23 Philippine Azkals, unleashed its power on Baybay Leyte FC, 10-0, with Aldrin Dolino and Yoon Byeong Jun scoring three goals each.

Contributing to the win were the goals from Prince Hannesin Antony, Hyung Min Sim, Ian Treyes, and J. Baguioro.

Against Cebu yesterday, Ceres FC had some difficulties in setting up a goal for its strikers with the Cebuanos displaying solid defense.

Dolino however scored the winning goal in the 71st minute to give Ceres FC the lead in the tournament as they team advances to the Top 16 round or the knockout stage with teams from the United Football League (UFL).

The tournament serves as qualifier for teams who plan to join the UFL.*NAB
