Union vows reform for
Vallacar workers

The members of the Vallacar Transit Inc. Employees Union-Associated Labor-Union-Trade Union Congress of the Philippines in Bacolod City are asking the company to allow them to conduct their campaign in their bus terminals to help them promote their group, union president Edgar Domingo, said yesterday.

At a press conference at the Negros Press Club building in Bacolod City, Domingo said they want to reach out to other workers and members of the union to get their support.

He claimed that the members of the incumbent workers’ union of Vallacar employees, the Philippine Agricultural Commercial Industrial Workers Union do not allow them to conduct campaigns in the private terminals of the company.

‘Botagoy’ nabs 3
for ‘hot meat’ sale

Three meat vendors were arrested recently by the Bacolod City Task Force Botagoy for selling hot meat, Rex Julpo, acting city veterinary officer, said yesterday.

They were identified as Primo Sescia of Brgy. Tangub, Armando Alpar of Brgy. Singcang Airport, and and Raymond Coleta of Brgy. Mansilingan, Juplo said.

Sescia was caught selling 33 kilograms of swine hot meat at the talipapa market at about in Brgy. Tangub, Sunday and it was his third time to be apprehended for the same offense, Julpo said.

BOI general coming

Board of Investment Governor Oliver Butalid will be in Bacolod City on Thursday for the investment priorities plans briefing-seminar at Planta Centro Hotel, Engimar Tupas, acting business development division chief of the Department of Trade and Industry in Negros Occidental, said yesterday.

The briefing will cover opportunities until the third quarter of 2013, Tupas said.

He said that Butalid will be joined by BOI director Nestor Arcansalin and Salvador Co and Mary Ann Reyes who are also from the board.
