‘Botagoy’ nabs 3
for ‘hot meat’ sale

Three meat vendors were arrested recently by the Bacolod City Task Force Botagoy for selling hot meat, Rex Julpo, acting city veterinary officer, said yesterday.

They were identified as Primo Sescia of Brgy. Tangub, Armando Alpar of Brgy. Singcang Airport, and and Raymond Coleta of Brgy. Mansilingan, Juplo said.

Sescia was caught selling 33 kilograms of swine hot meat at the talipapa market at about in Brgy. Tangub, Sunday and it was his third time to be apprehended for the same offense, Julpo said.

He said that Sescia is recommended for the removal of his assigned space in the market. He also said that they have done the same thing with another vendor whose name he withheld. If approved by the Task Force, he said, Sescia will be the second violator who will get the same penalty.

Earlier this month, Alpar was caught selling 20 kilograms of pork at Brgy. Banago while on board on his motorcycle and the 11 kilograms of cattle meat were confiscated from Coleta at Mansilingan Market, Juplo said.

The task force confiscated a total of 64 kilograms of hot meat from the vendors, he said.

He warned consumers not to patronize hot meat because these may contain diseases since they did not go through meat inspection and branding. Hot meat is not butchered in accredited slaughterhouses, he added. *LTG
