Guns surrendered
BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Four short firearms and an improvised shotgun or sulpak, that were left in a tricycle were surrendered to Police Station 7 in Bacolod City yesterday.

Station 7 deputy chief, Insp. Emmanuel Misajon said among the guns surrendered were two pin guns with one bullet each, a .380 caliber pistol with expired license, and a .38 caliber revolver with three bullets.

Wenceslao Penaso, a carpenter, said the .38 caliber revolver was sold to him several years ago by a friend but he decided to endorse it to the police because he does not want to possess it anymore.

Driver Albert Delos Santos said the sulpak was left by his passenger in his tricycle but instead of keeping it, he surrendered it to the police because he believe it is dangerous.

Misajon said they are happy these loose firearms were surrendered because there are many gun-related crimes happening in Bacolod now.

He encouraged other people with unlicensed firearms to also surrender them, otherwise, they will be meted appropriate penalties.*APN
