Buglasan booth
spaces for rent

Booth spaces at the Capitol area in Dumaguete City and at the Sidlakang Negros Village for the Buglasan Festival of Negros Oriental are now open for rental, Provincial Tourism Officer Myla Abellana said in a government press release yesterday.

She said that commercial, dry goods and corporate booths are available, and members of the Negros Oriental Hotels, Resorts and Restaurants can also display their products and services.

Rates for each type of booth in the Capitol area from October 12 to 21 are P2,500 for fruit and food stands, P5,000 for small stalls, P7,500-dry goods, and P25,000-corporate booth, the press release added.

For NOHRR A and B booths, the provincial government will charge P30,000 and P15,000, respectively, as these are located beside the Capitol jet fountain. A commercial booth with sponsorship will cost P50,000.

Abellana said small stalls and food stands in front of the Capitol building stage and at the Kagawasan Avenue have all been booked or sold out.

Meanwhile, restaurants, small stalls, fruit and foods stands are also open to concessionaires for rent at P7,200, P2,500, and P1,500, respectively, at the SNV.

Interested concessionaires can visit the Provincial Tourism Office or call Earl Warren Jumalon at 226-3105, the press release said.

The Buglasan will kick off with a grand citywide civic parade, starting at 2 p.m. on Oct. 12 at the Quezon Park grounds.

There are 64 participating contingents from local government units, schools, civic clubs, commercial businesses, giant television networks with their artists, and 21 bands that will parade from Colon and Real streets to Kagawasan Avenue, Negros Oriental High School, and end at the Capitol building.

An ecumenical service will then be performed at 5 p.m., while Gov. Roel Degamo will declare the festival open at the Capitol and at the SNV with the ribbon-cutting rites for the industrial booths and exhibits at 6 p.m., the press release added.*
