Candidates have filed their Certificates of Candidacy in Cadiz City and Don Salvador Benedicto town, while Ilog Councilor Benigno Gequillana is set to file his CoC for mayor.

Cadiz City Mayor Dr. Patrick Escalante and Vice Mayor Samson Mirhan, who are seeking reelection, filed their CoCs before the Cadiz Commission on Elections Monday.

Twenty-one of the 22 barangay captains of the city were present to show their support for Escalante.

Running for councilors on Escalante’s ticket are Dr. Lilia Decolongon, Wilfredo Cervantes, Denia Puey-Hinolan, Sixto Teofilo Roxas Guanzon Jr., Vicente William Tabanao, Marcelo Metoda Sr., Juan Musa Jr. and the new candidates are Owen Desuyo, Dovie Lacson and Lorie Art Lamis.

Lawyer Joemax Ortiz yesterday said he also filed his CoC for mayor of Don Salvador Benedicto, along with his runningmate, Misael Delantar, and eight candidates for councilor.

In Ilog, Councilor Gequillana said he is running for mayor with former Negros Occidental Schools Superintendent Rizalino Tortosa as his running mate.

The candidates running for councilor with Gequillana are Lawrence Britanico, Ramonito Gatoc, Juan Urbanozo Jr., Sally Bandolos, Luisito Gatungay, Cornelio Daguia, Bella Sapalo and Charmaine Delosanes.*CPG
