Disqualify nuisance,
Sayson asks
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Mayoralty candidate Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson said he will file a petition before the Commission on Elections to declare fruit vendor Julius Soriano Sayson as a nuisance candidate.

Julius Sayson, 32, of Brgy. Granada, Bacolod City, filed his certificate of candidacy for mayor of Bacolod City at the COMELEC Office 5 minutes before the 5 p.m. deadline Friday.

He will be running against Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson of the Nationalist People’s Coalition-Grupo Progeso and former Bacolod Rep. Monico Puentevella.

Vice Mayor Sayson said his lawyer is now preparing the documents to be submitted to the COMELEC for the filing of the petition against Julius for reasons that he does not have a business of his own, has no permanent job, and does not have the capacity to sustain the financial aspect of carrying out an election campaign.

Sayson said Julius is identified with the camp of his political opponent as he admitted in his facebook account.

“His facebook account says he is supporting my political rival. It also states that he will be taking a big action before the last day of the filing of COC’s,” Sayson said.

He said Julius must be used by his political opponent to disturb his candidacy or create confusion among the voters.

Sayson recalled that the same thing had been done by the same group to former councilor Alex Paglumotan during the 2010 elections.

He said nobody else can come up with that idea except the think-tank of his political opponent who is used to this kind of dirty politics.

Sayson said he has known Julius as a former worker of the Granada Barangay Hall under former Barangay Captain Sombilla.

During the last election, Julius was a leader of Sombilla who is supporting a different political group, he said.

Sayson said they are even making it appear that he allowed a distant relative to ran against him.

But why should I fool myself by letting him run against me and make me spend for the filing of the disqualification case? He asked.

Sayson said he will never negotiate with Julius to withdraw his candidacy because he wants him to face the disqualification charges he is filing against him.

Julius’ facebook account also show that he is a firefighter at the Granada Sub-Fire Station.*CGS
