Karatekas from Jack & Jill School Homesite and Castleson High-City Heights stamped their class on the elementary and high school karatedo competition of the NOPSSCEA this year.

Mentored by sensei Randy Mengullo, Jack & Jill Homesite’s Ceazar Rein Florete bagged the a gold and silver medals in 12 years old kumite and intermediate boys’ kata, while Alliah Minn Sampang plucked the gold for 8-9 novice girls’ kata. Carlo Samonte finished with a silver and bronze in 7 years old and below kumite and novice boys’ kata, while Romeo Claude Gemanel took home the bronze in 10-11 years old novice boys’ kata.

It was a double gold for Ralf Basuel, and Alex Marianne for JJS Castleson High while Ritz Atanacio had a gold and silver in 7 years old kumite and novice boys’ kata.

Gerald Nimfras captured the gold in 10-11 novice boys’ kata, while it was a gold and bronze for Kriskate Barredo and Aikey Barredo in their respective events.

Lander John Corpuz, Aihlea Veronique Lagado, and Cymil Escaran booked a double silver each, while it was a silver and bronze for Riyer and Ryan Atanacio.

Silver medalists for JJS Castleson High were Ferlie Mae Lall and Loreto Sumawang, as Alec Terence Ledesma won two bronze medals.*NAB
