MassKara is in the air
The festive mood is in the air, with all the beautiful and colorful decors of varied sizes and designs, masks in the shopping centers, malls and banderitas in streets of Bacolod City.
Last Sunday night, as soon as the rain stopped, people flocked to the streets of San Juan, Gonzaga and Gatuslao surrounding the Bacolod public plaza for the “Tandâ! Sing Na, Dance Pa!” inter-barangay talent competition, a new feature of this year’s MassKara Festival celebration. I was happy to see policemen guarding every entrance and exit to the venues, and roving among the crowd.
Exotic and uniquely-designed MassKara masks are still on display at Robinsons Place Bacolod, and at the Bacolod plaza, festival organizers have lined up various programs and activities for the entertainment of everybody.

A week-long birthday celebration for B-Bong Rodriguez was given by his family, friends and groupmates. Joan, Analee and Frances arrived from Manila to be with their dad on his natal day. Terribly missed was daughter Carina, who is working in New York.
Three days after, B-Bong treated us to lunch, and three days later, we treated him in return. Last Sunday, Jun and Mila Moya gave a welcome lunch, this time with lechon for Julie R. and Maricel B., that was also a late celebration for B-Bong.
To dear B-Bong, more birthdays to celebrate and God Bless You.*
Remember: Morning is a wonderful blessing. Either stormy or sunny, it stands for hope, giving us another start of what we call Life.* |
