Trisikad driver
stabbed dead

A trisikad driver was stabbed dead by his colleague over an argument at about 3 p.m. Monday at Mercedes Street, Bacolod City.

Hector Dejillo, 42, of Brgy. 39, Bacolod, was declared dead on arrival at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, Station 6 commander, Chief Insp. Noel Polines, said yesterday.

Polines said suspect Telesporo Urbano, “alias Gamay”, evaded arrest and brought with him the bladed weapon used in stabbing Dejillo, but a manhunt operation has been launched against him.

Investigation showed that Urbano and Dejillo quarreled over their passengers until Urbano drew his bladed weapon and stabbed Dejillo on the chest.

Meanwhile, the Bacolod City Police Women and Children’s Complaints Desk is now preparing homicide charges against a businessman, who shot and killed a suspected robber for allegedly stealing several items from his house in Brgy. Villamonte Sunday.

Harry Uy, 45, of Hervias Uno, Brgy. Villamonte, was released from detention Sunday after he posted P10, 000 in bail, Station 4 deputy chief, Insp. Lanel Mae Lanado, said yesterday.

Lanado denied reports from media entities (not the DAILY STAR) that the policemen were late in responding to the incident.

He said they received the report around 4 a.m. Saturday and immediately went to the area.

Lanado also said the reason why they did not apply first aid on the victim, Balong Sumbang, 14, of Purok Araw, Brgy. Estefania, is that they are not allowed to do so based on police operational procedures.

Uy reportedly shot Sumbang after the minor tried to stab him when he was caught stealing at his house.

WCCD records showed that Sumbang had been arrested three times on robbery and theft charges, and he had used different names and addresses.*APN

13 ‘shabu’ sachets
seized in buy-bust

More suspected shabu intended for sale during the 33rd MassKara Festival was seized by the Bacolod City Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. 2, Bacolod City at about 3:50 p.m. Monday.

CAIDSTOG head, Supt. Santiago Rapiz said the buy-bust also led to the arrest of Sancho Esio, “alias Junior Esio”, 45, of 27th-Calamba Street, Bacolod.

Esio was apprehended after he handed a small heat-sealed sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P500.

An additional 10 elongated sachets of suspected shabu and two small heat-sealed sachets of the banned substance, all valued at P13,000, a cellular phone and P120 in cash were recovered from Esio when he was apprehended, police record show.

Although he is not in the CAIDSTOG watch list, Rapiz said they had conducted a surveillance on Esio for several days on information that he is into the illegal drugs trade.

Charges for violation of sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the sale and possession of illegal drugs, will be filed against Esio, who is now detained at the lockup cell of the Bacolod City Police headquarters.*APN
