Basketball coaches from NOPSSCEA-member schools are set to attend the National Basketball Training Center National Convention set October 12-14 in Philsports Arena.
St. John’s Institute high school basketball team head coach Dexter Dy said the national gathering will be a good venue for local coaches to learn new inputs to help improve their performance in the different competitions.
During the convention, he said NBTC officials Eric Altamirano and Alex Compton will present the NBTC Vision.
Other activities to be tackled during the three-day event are lectures and activities that will enhance the skills of basketball coaches.
Those who are interested to join the national convention should contact NBTC coordinator Jake Azucena.
Meanwhile, Dy said he was happy to note that NOPSSCEA is taking into consideration some suggestions expressed by high school coaches to ensure a healthy competition in the league.
Although they have yet to clarify some vague details, Dy said the tournament format was already discussed and tournament commissioner Renato Bravo has presented them the schedule.
Dy added, however, they still have to sign the Ground Rules presented by Bravo as they wanted to make clear some provisions.*NAB
