A barangay kagawad died when his vehicle figured in a head-on collision with a Ceres Liner passenger bus Sunday at Francisco Maravilla Street in EB Magalona, Negros Occidental, police said.

Kagawad Raymond Dongon of Brgy. Latasan in EB Magalona, was declared dead on arrival at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City.

Dongon, 26, sustained fatal injuries in the head and chest, while his motorcycle, a 125 Honda XRM, was a total wreck, investigations of the EB Magalona police showed.

The driver of the passenger bus, identified as Dennis Cardinal, 36, of Brgy. Bulanon, Sagay City, immediately surrendered to the police.

Investigation by the EB Magalona police showed Cardinal was overtaking another vehicle, when the passenger bus, that was going from south to north bumped the motorcycle of Dongon.* GPB
