6th RPSB gets
480 new cops

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

The 6th Regional Public Safety Battalion is getting 480 more policemen and women, who recently completed the Philippine National Police Special Counter-Insurgency Operations Unit Training at Camp Aniceto Lacson in Victorias City, Negros Occidental.

Of the 480 PNP SCOUT graduates, 48 are women, police records show.

The graduates are expected to replenish the 240 police officers who have been assigned at the 6th RPSB for at least three years, and distributed to various police stations and maneuver units in Negros and Panay.

The 6th RPSB is the regional maneuver unit of the Police Regional Office 6 in Western Visayas. Its troopers are actively involved in both counter-insurgency operations and law enforcement campaign.

During the graduation rites held Monday at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City , Police Officers 1 Shem Pillora and Daryl Grace Abogadil were conferred with Medalya ng Papuri, for showing exemplary stamina and physical endurance during their 45-day training.

The recipients of the Medalya ng Kasanayan were PO1 Kevin Silva for being the class president, PO1 Jumar Bandoquillo as Class Marcher and PO1 Ariel Hita-as for graduating with First Honors, while PO1 Herbert Pedroso and PO1 Nonel Deopido got the Medalya ng Papuri for graduating with second and third honors, respectively.

The ‘Top Gun’ of the class were PO1 Collen Verdeprado (female category) and PO1 Ian Jagunap (male category).

Supt. Iver Apellido recently took over the command of 6th RPSB, that was vacated by Senior Supt. Milko Lirazan, who is now the officer-in-charge of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.* GPB
