Bacolod City was represented in the National Assembly of Consumer Organizations yesterday in Pasay City that about 80 leaders and members from consumer groups in the Philippines attended.
MaximoRavena, division chief of the consumers welfare and trade of the Department of Trade and Industry, said Bacolod City was represented by Andrea Zolayvar, president of the Consumer Association of Bacolod.
Ravena said Zolayvar has been active in promoting consumer awareness since 1985 and was among the incorporators of the National Consumer Council of the Philippines, Inc., in 1991.
The assembly discussed consumer information and education, monitoring and enforcement, and policies to achieve the vision of DTI to make goods and services accessible and sustainable for consumers, he also said.
The assembly aims to assert the rights and the welfare of the consuming public and revitalize, strengthen all consumer organizations in the country, and address issues and concerns related to consumers and to safeguard the rights and welfare of the public.
