Two executed
BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Were they summarily executed?

The bodies of two murdered men, one of them still unidentified, were found in the cities of Bacolod yesterday and in Himamaylan, Negros Occidental Wednesday.

Police records show that the body of Arnel Blanco Piquit, 31, of Brgy. Nanunga, Hinigaran town, Negros Occidental was found lying on his side by Bejie Sagon who was walking along the highway of Sitio Tanate in Brgy. Aguisan, Himamaylan, at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

PO3 John Derick Capunong of Himamaylan police said Piquit, who was clad in a red sleeveless shirt and light brown cargo shorts, had been slashed in the neck.

Capunong said they are still determining the motive behind the killing of Piquit, but it is definitely not robbery as his wallet that contained his driver’s license, receipts and P901 in cash, was still with him when his body was found. The suspects only stole his tricycle, he added.

Piquit’s family told the police that he left their house at about 9 p.m. Wednesday to buy some goods at the Himamaylan Market and failed to come home. They were informed only yesterday that his body had been found, he said.

In Bacolod, an unidentified body was found in the middle of the pathway of a sugarcane plantation at Hacienda Gonzaga, Brgy. Mansilingan, yesterday by overseers of the National Housing Authority, Station 7 commander, Chief Insp, Levy Pangue said.

Joel Benedicto and Carlos Begado told the police that they heard gunshots at about 1 a.m. and when they checked where it came from, they found the body of a man lying on his stomach.

The victim, who was clad in blue shorts and a white shirt, was described to be between 21 to 25 years old, of medium build and with a fair complexion, Pangue said.

The victim has tribal tattoos on both arms, a sun tattoo on his navel, and a moon tattoo on his chest, Pangue also said.

He said the man appeared to have been tortured because he has tie marks on both wrists, his eyes were swollen, and there is a gunshot wound on his head.*APN
