Bacolod ready for UniGames;
12 playing venues identified

It’s all systems go for the 17th Sandugo-University Games in Bacolod City on October 22-28 with host University of St. La Salle leading the list of playing venues identified by the organizers.

UniGames president Roger Banzuela said that with 24 teams seeing action in men’s basketball and 12 in the women’s side, games will be played at the USLS Coliseum and the West Negros University Gym.

He said a third venue, the Natalio G. Velez Multi-purpose Gym, might be added to the list in case both the USLS and WNU Gym will be overbooked.

MassKara bowling tilt
rolls off today at Top

The Masskara Regional Invitational Bowling Tournament opens today at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.

The event is a six-game series with the top four squads after the eliminations vying for the championship in an up-the-ladder system. It is being organized by Active Solid Strikers Fellowship Bowlers Inc. in cooperation with the Visayas Alliance of Duckpin Bowlers Association, Condura and Sharp Philippines.

The teams from Iloilo City, Roxas City and Negros Occidental will vie in the two-day competition.

opens at WNU

Joshbianc Motors’ bid for a back-to-back title starts today as the Your Basketball Athletic Club Basketball Tournament opens at the West Negros University gym at 5 p.m. after a simple opening ceremony.

Out to give Joshbianc a tough competition in the tournament are rivals led by runner-up RD Trucking/Dr. Pinoy, Robinhood Commercial and Jaltas/Consuelo Supermart.

Joshbianc will be bannered by Ian Locsin, Garcia, Marlon Caballero, Co, Wilbert Amoy, Joel Togle, Eric Abanilla, Mawie Carreon, A. Rosal, Dazo, Rey Magno, with Jake Azucena and Oscar Aquino as player-coaches. Also suiting up for the team are team managers Jun Ballesteros and Edwin Fregil.
