Armed man holds up
firm in Bacolod
BY ADRIAN NEMES III

A man armed with a .38 caliber revolver held up a financial services firm in broad day light Saturday at Araneta Street in Brgy. Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City, and took P14,000 in cash.

The two employees of M Lhuillier, whose identities are being withheld for security reasons, told the police that the suspect, who wore red jacket and a white cap, barged into their establishment at about 11 a.m. and declared a hold-up.

They added that the suspect pointed his gun at them, ordered them to give him the money and escaped on board a Racal black and red motorcycle going to the direction of Libertad Street.

City Police Director Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz said the employees said the suspect was about 5 feet to 5 feet and 2 inches tall, slim and had a fair complexion.

However, they failed to describe his facial features as he was wearing dark glasses and had covered his mouth with a motorcycle mask, de la Paz said.

He added that it was easy for the suspect to escape because the establishment has no security guard and it will also be difficult for the police to identify him as there was no closed circuit television camera in the area.

De la Paz reminded business establishments dealing with money transactions to install CCTVs if they can not hire security guards, for their own safety.*APN
