2 minors die in mishap
BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Two minors died in a hospital yesterday 30 minutes after their motorcycle crashed into a parked truck at C.L. Montelibano Avenue in Bacolod City.

Police Officer 3 Docelio Pachoro, traffic investigator, identified the fatalities as John Niel David, 16, of East Homes 2 Subdivision and Cary Angelo Mamburam, 14, of Maso Street , Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod .

David and Mamburam both died while being treated at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital . They were not wearing helmets when the accident happened, Pachoro told the DAILY STAR.

Investigation showed that the Honda motorcycle driven by David was heading west of C.L. Montelibano Avenue when it crashed into the rear of Izusu elf truck parked at the side of the road.

Pachoro said they have asked Mars Ibuna, 40, of Galo-Hilado Streets, Bacolod and the driver of the truck to financially help the families of the victims.

He said the area where the accident happened is well lighted and the motorcycle must have been speeding, resulting in the accident.

In Sagay City, police are still facing a blank wall on the identity of the driver of a truck that sideswiped a motorcycle at the highway of Hacienda Magdalena, Brgy. Paraiso at about 2 a.m. Friday, causing the death of its driver.

Eugene Aguilar, 32, of Buendia Street in Tondo Manila and a resident of Brgy. Poblacion Uno, Sagay City, died on the way to the Lopez District Hospital in Sagay, traffic investigator Police Officer 3 Joseph Vargas said.

Vargas said Aguilar, who was not wearing a helmet, was on a Rusi motorcycle and was on his way to Sagay while the truck was going to Bacolod, when the accident happened.

Vargas also said that no one was able to take note of the plate number of the truck because there were no people present in the area when the accident occurred.*APN
