The 2012 Masskara National Open Trio Bowling Championship hosted by Kami Mga Hubin Bowling Club/Microasia opens today at the Super Lanes of the Go0ldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

The four-day “Sonny Angara Cup” will be participated in by the country's best in duckpin bowling from the National Capitol Region, Visayas and Mindanao.

It will be held as part of the Masskara Festival celebration.

Bacolod City's selection from the Active Solid Strikers Fellowship Bowlers Inc. chaired by Cecil Ramon Silverio and Edgar Allan Del Rosario, Negros Professional Bowlers Club headed by Gil Villagante and Steve Po, KMH of Robbie Elegado, TNT Construction/Mechelec/NPBC led by Nonoy Ruiz, Davies Team of Edgar Jerez and Romel Jover, among others will play against visiting ball clubs consisting of men and women's divisions.

Gift certificates and trophies are at stake for team and individual winners.

At stake in the men's trio competition is P40,000 worth of gift certificates for the champion; P25,000 and P15,000 for the first and second runners-up.

In the ladies department, the champion will receive P30,000; first runner-up, P20,000 and second runner-up P10,000.

In the individual single event, the champion in the men's bracket will receive P10,000 and the first and second placers P7,000 and P5,000.

In the distaff side, the top three winners will also receive the same cash prize.

The top 20 bowlers will then vie for the top purse in the master's game.

PHIDBC Regional Commissioner for Visayas, Sonny Elegado, said the Philippine Duckpin Bowling Council format, rules and regulation will be used in the KMHBC activity.
