2 cops found
negative for shabu

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

The two police troopers, linked to illegal drug peddling activities by an arrested drug pusher, yesterday tested negative for prohibited drugs, Supt. Iver Apellido, director of the 6th Regional Public Safety Battalion, said.

Police Officer 2 Rex Capapas and Police Officer 1 Melchor Salcedo, both members of the 3rd Maneuver Company of 6th RPSB stationed in Brgy. E. Lopez, Silay City, were subjected to drug testing, after arrested suspect Rodrigo de la Cruz, a trisikad driver, claimed that they provided him with shabu to sell.

The arrest of de la Cruz during a buy-bust operation Wednesday in Brgy. E. Lopez, Silay City, yielded three sachets of suspected shabu.

Despite having tested negative for prohibited drugs, Apellido said Capapas and Salcedo will be temporarily assigned at Camp Aniceto Lacson in Victorias City, pending further investigation.

Both were also disarmed of their service firearms.

Senior Supt. Milko Lirazan, officer-in-charge of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, said any policemen linked to drugs faces dismissal from the police service, if evidence warrants. * GPB
