BSP Deputy Governor Nestor Espenilla Jr. has said that Monetary Board officials will grant PDIC’s request if it asks for the extension of the receivership period.

PVO selecting areas for
sheep propagation

The Provincial Veterinary Office of Negros Occidental is selecting 20 barangays to qualify for the “Karnero sa Barangay” program to propagate sheep breeding development at their level, Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Renante Decena said yesterday.

Decena said the province has already been declared as the lamb capital of the Philippines and bringing the project to the barangay level will increase the production of the animals.

The barangays are evaluated based on their capacity and willingness to raise the animals, house them, and the personnel who will be trained to maintain their health, he said.
