PNP to decide on new
Dumaguete police chief

The Philippine National Police will submit a list of nominees for the next chief of police of Dumaguete City, after its former director, Supt. Crisaleo Tolentino, was assigned to Mandaue City in Cebu province recently.

Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office director, Senior Supt. Edward Carranza said Tolentino will not be reinstated to his former position despite the intervention of some local officials.

He added the PNP will not be influenced by politicians in the assignment of police officers.

Tolentino was relieved from his post, along with Insp. Janelito Marquez of the Provincial Anti Illegal Drugs Operations Task Group, after a controversial confrontation and misunderstanding ensued between them and their men.

This was when a suspected drug pusher, whom Tolentino claimed was their asset, was arrested by the PAIDSOTG.*PNA
