1 killed in daytime
robbery in Sibulan
BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

A female employee of a courier service was killed in a hold-up incident at her workplace in Sibulan, Negros Oriental, at around 1:30 p.m. yesterday.

Sibulan police chief, Insp. Rodrigo Tubog, identified the fatality as Jeneveb Rosales Villafranca, 29, a sales associate of LBC-Sibulan, who died on the spot from a gunshot wound on her chest.

Tubog said Villafranca was alone when the robbery took place. The amount lost to the robber was not immediately determined.

A closed circuit television recording showed a man, whose face was partially covered by cloth and who was wearing a cap, approached the establishment, and later fled on board a motorcycle.

Police recovered two spent cartridges of a .45 caliber revolver and a magazine with seven live ammunition at the crime scene, reports show.

Negros Oriental provincial police director, Senior Supt. Edward Carranza, ordered a thorough investigation of the incident, saying he believe it was perpetrated by a lone suspect and not by big-time crime groups.*JFP
