‘Party Pilipinas’ to heat
up MassKara tomorrow

The cast of GMA Network’s “Party Pilipinas” will be in Bacolod City tomorrow to heat up the MassKara Festival revelry, a press release from the station said.

The stars will include Aljur Abrenica, Enzo Pineda, Geoff Eigenmann, Gian Magdangal, Jay-R, Julian Trono, Kris Lawrence, Mark Bautista, Mark Herras, Sef Cadayona, Steven Silva, Diva Montelaba, Kylie Padilla, Marie Digby, Mayton Eugenio, Rochelle Pangilinan, Sam Pinto, Wynwyn Marquez, and Yassi Pressman.

Korean musical sensation Down to Mars will also join the “Kapusong Bacoleños” extravaganza at Rizal Street in downtown Bacolod, the press release also said.

A prelude celebration to the 25th anniversary concert of Asia’s songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, and the appearance of Marian Rivera for the soft launch of her “Temptation of Wife” TV series will highlight the variety show. The celebration will begin with a motorcade at the main streets of Bacolod City, and the performance at the SM Bacolod parking lot, the press release added.*

World Teachers Day
commemorated in Silay

The Department of Education Division of Silay City in Negros Occidental celebrated the World Teacher’s Day recently, with competitions and activities on the theme “My Teacher, My Hero”, a press release from the department said.

The event started with a parade and fun dance participated in by teachers and non-teaching personnel of the division, from the Doña Montserrat Lopez Memorial High School ground to the Silay City public plaza, followed by fun-fare and dancing competitions, the press release said.

The Carioca dance contest was won by the DMLMHS, best cheerleader – Gov. E. Gaston Memorial ES, and the best in songs and yell competition by the District III composed of E. Lizares, Tayap, Don Homero and Patag ES.

Jeruhwell Pedroso of the Silay North ES won first place in the search for most outstanding elementary school teacher, followed by Angela Dilag and Susanita Majillano, both of Silay South ES, as second and third place winners, respectively. In the high school category, Daisy Lopez of the E. Lopez HS won first place and Edgardo Ibañez of DMLMHS Main High in second place.

Salvacion Senayo of the Silay North ES won the search for outstanding ES principal, and Wilfredo Hermosura of DMLMHS Main High in the high school category, the press release said.

Cash prizes of P10,000, P7,000 and P5,000 were received by the first, second and third place winners, respectively, the press release added.*
