Art map launched
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Festival director Eli Francis Tajanlangit said they have launched an “art map”, which is a tourist guide to the art activities in Bacolod City during the MassKara Festival celebration.

Tajanlangit said they have realized how much private initiatives have gone into the “Life is Good in Bacolod” theme of the 33rd MassKara Festival.

“When we called for art activities to bring in the artistic legacy of the city, we did not realize the kind of support it will have from our people,” he said.

So, to put things in perspective, they are producing the art map so it will be easier for MassKara tourists to find the art exhibits and art activities of the festival, he added.

The art map will help them find the art shows, the photo opportunities, the upcoming art activities and their location in the city.

“We are initially producing it as maps and newspaper ads that people can refer to, and hopefully this will help position us as an art city,” he said.

Tajanlangit said that aside from the festival itself, they are bringing out other art traditions, art potentials, land legacies of the city, to reinforce the its position as the art capital in the southern Philippines.*CGS
