P1.5-M market facilities
slated for inauguration

Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson will inaugurate Thursday the P1.5 million consumer welfare desk and other reconstructed facilities at the Bacolod Central Market with directors Dominic Abad of the Department of Trade and Industry and Evelyn Trompeta of the Department of Interior and Local Government.

Ernie Pineda, Bacolod City Market Coordinating and Monitoring Task Force head, yesterday said repairs and installation of CWD at the North Burgos and Libertad markets in Bacolod that have a total budget of P3.5 million and P7 million, respectively, have already started.

He said the CWD is important because consumers will be able to report and lodge their complaints there. It will also regulate and prevent fraud in the markets, Pineda added.

Hydro power project to
be launched today

The proposed 6MW Malogo River Mini-Hydro Power Project in Silay City will be launched at Don Felix M. Lacson Memorial High School, Brgy. Kapitan Ramon in Silay today, a press release from the city said.

The project initiated by Silay City and the Province of Negros Occidental is in cooperation with Malogo Development Corporation, Vivant Corporation, Meadowland Developers, Inc., and the Department of Energy.

The facility with the weir, surge tank, and power plant will be unveiled by Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr., Mayor Jose Montelibano and Director Mario Marasigan of the Renewable Energy Management Bureau of the Department of Energy, the press release said.

DOLE issues pay rules
for Oct., Nov. holidays

MANILA – The Department of Labor and Employment yesterday issued Labor Advisory No. 03, Series of 2012, promulgating the pay rules applicable for Friday on November 1, 2, and 30, a government press release said.

For regular holidays October 26 and November 30, if the employee did not work, he/she shall be paid 100 percent of his/her salary for that day [Daily Rate + COLA] x 100 percent; if the employee worked, he/she shall be paid 200 percent of his/her regular salary for that day for the first eight hours [Daily Rate + COLA] x 200 percent.
