Hydro power project to
be launched today

The proposed 6MW Malogo River Mini-Hydro Power Project in Silay City will be launched at Don Felix M. Lacson Memorial High School, Brgy. Kapitan Ramon in Silay today, a press release from the city said.

The project initiated by Silay City and the Province of Negros Occidental is in cooperation with Malogo Development Corporation, Vivant Corporation, Meadowland Developers, Inc., and the Department of Energy.

The facility with the weir, surge tank, and power plant will be unveiled by Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr., Mayor Jose Montelibano and Director Mario Marasigan of the Renewable Energy Management Bureau of the Department of Energy, the press release said.

Visitors will be welcomed by Punong Barangay Ramon Celebre and the overview of the project will be given by Juan Eugenio Roxas, AVP-External Affairs of Vivant Corporation, it added.*
