Sandurot revelry set Nov.
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Dumaguete City is preparing for the Sandurot Festival next month that is being celebrated in line with its Charter anniversary.

The Department of Education Dumaguete City was tasked to conceptualize this year’s revelry, and division superintendent Ramir Uytico said they are planning to mobilize the talents of public elementary and high schools, and the barangays.

Uytico said he is also planning to use canned music for the Sandurot instead of hiring live bands to save on costs. He said he started writing the lyrics for the jingle, and will gather all dance instructors of Dumaguete City to come out with the five basic steps of the festival.

The jingle will revolve around Dumaguete as a City of Gentle People, the heart and the gateway to and from Negros Oriental, he added.*JG
