Negros district jail
has new warden

BY CARLA GOMEZ

The Negros Occidental District Jail in Barangay Tabunan, Bago City, has a new jail warden.

Supt. Amelito Cabrera Fuentes, who previously headed the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology district jail in Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City, has been appointed OIC head of the Negros Occidental District Jail.

He takes the place of Supt. Felixberto Jagorin Jr. who is taking an officers senior executive course, Fuentes said.

Chief Inspector Vicente Papelera takes over as warden of the Handumanan jail.

Twenty-seven wardens in Western Visayas have been reshuffled with many assigned in Iloilo now in Negros Occidental, he added.

Fuentes said that, in his inspection of the Negros Occidental District Jail, he noted that its fence needs perimeter lights, and this has already been referred to the provincial government for assistance.*CPG
