One-strike cop
policy reiterated
BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office director, Senior Supt. Edward Carranza, reiterated his warning to all chiefs of police in the province about the one- strike policy of the Philippine National Police.

He ordered the CoPs to ensure the active and intensified campaign against all forms of illegal activities, like gambling, loose firearms and drugs.

Senior Police Officer 1 Edilberto Euraoba III of NOPPO said the one-strike policy directs all police chiefs to pursue illegal gambling operators and financiers, and file cases against them.

Carranza warned that police chiefs and their personnel will be relieved immediately from their posts if they were found to be remiss in complying with the policy.

Under the policy, a CoP faces relief from post if a higher or separate police unit was able to confirm the existence of illegal gambling, logging, prohibited drugs and wanted persons in his area of jurisdiction through positive operation, or the arrest of suspect/s.*JFP
