FEU, DLSU-Manila share lead
in UniGames women's athletics

Negrense Felyn Dolloso won the gold in long jump and triple jump, while Maureen Schrijvers reigned in 100m run as De La Salle University-Manila duplicated Far Eastern University's three-gold medal haul yesterday in women's athletics of the 17 th Sandugo University Games at the Panaad Park and Stadium.

Delivering FEU's gold medals were Mary Ann Dela Cruz in 800m, Daylyn Carmen in 1,500m, and the quartet of Josie Malacad, Avegail Dizon, Juanillo and Penarubia in 4x200m relay.

Dolloso's 12.28m leap in triple jump earned her the gold, relegating to second place FEU's Joean Bermudo (12.03m) and Dizon to third place.

De Oro wins gold,
silver for USLS

Maika De Oro's 37.65m throw in discus throw yesterday failed to eclipse the 38.42m distance she set in Roxas City last year but it was enough to give host University of St. La Salle its first gold medal in the 17 th Sandugo University Games at the Panaad Park and Stadium.

De Oro also gifted her school a silver medal in shot put, despite joining the competition at the last minute.

Her father and trainer, Manuel, said Maika opted to concentrate on discus throw this year and did not practice in shot put. The silver finish, he said, was more than good enough.
