MOU inked

A Memorandum of Understanding on anti-illegal recruitment and trafficking in persons was recently signed by representatives of the Kabankalan City government, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and the Department of Labor and Employment at the Farmer's Training Center in Kabankalan, a press release from the city said.

Mayor Isidro Zayco, Jaime Jimenez of POEA, Samuel Madrid of OWWA and Ma. Victoria Mondragon of DOLE signed the agreement.

The signing highlighted the two-day Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons Campaign-Seminar and Capability Enhancement Training on the Overseas Employment Program of the city, the press release said.

Resource speakers were Maria Teresa de los Santos, John Rio Bautista, P/Supt. Bernard Yang, Aireen Marie Gutierrez, Cherry Mae Solis, Rustico-Mendrato Banal III, Neeneelyne Paguila, Corazon Carmen Rosales, it added.

POEA Deputy Administrator Jimenez lauded the Kabankalan administration for the support the city had extended for the training, the press release said.*
