FEU, College of St. Benilde
lead championship winners

Far Eatern University and De La Salle-College of St. Benilde captured four team gold medals each to lead the winners in the 17th Sandugo University Games that ended yesterday at the University of St. La Salle.

The FEU Tamaraws retained the overall championship in both men and women’s athletics, and reigned in men’s football and women’s basketball.

The Tams finished with a silver in women’s volleyball and bronze in men’s chess.

St. Benilde also kept its title in men and women’s taekwondo, won the gold in men’s chess and women’s beach volleyball, while taking the silver in women’s badminton.

De La Salle University and University of the Philippines finished with three gold medals each, with DLSU ruling the women’s lawn tennis, women’s table tennis, and women’s volleyball. UP topped the women’s chess, women’s swimming, and women’s football.

With two gold medals each were host USLS in men’s badminton and men’s volleyball; Central Philippine University with men and women’s karatedo gold; and San Beda College in men’s swimming and men’s table tennis.

Also winning the gold was University of the East in women’s badminton, National University in men’s basketball, University of Sto. Tomas in men’s lawn tennis, Rizal Technical University in sepak takraw, and Foundation University in men’s beach volleyball.*NAB
