DOJ sends subpoenas to mayor,
6 others tagged in Arles murder

The Department of Justice has issued subpoenas to Ilog Mayor John Paul Alvarez and  six other respondents named in a complaint filed  by the National Bureau of Investigation against them for the murder of Kabankalan Regional Trial Court Judge Henry Arles, lawyer Frank Britanico yesterday said.

Also issued subpoenas were  Emmanuel Medez,  an administrative aide 1 of the Ilog government, and RPA-ABB members Marvin Salve and Gerald Gallano Tabujara who are at-large, and Jessie  Daguia, Alejandro  Capunong and Eddie  Fotunado who are now under NBI custody in Manila, Britanico, who is the brother-in-law of Arles, said.

“As to the latest three respondents, Rustom Puro, Vice Governor Genaro  Alvarez, and Vice Mayor Gerry  Tabujara, we expect theirs to be sent while the  preliminary investigation is in progress,” he added.

Ilog Mayor John Paul Alvarez said this yesterday, while also stressing that he is ready anytime to answer the accusationsagainst him.

Alvarez, who was interviewed in Brgy. Tabu. Ilog, more than a month after he wascharged before the Department of Justice by the National Bureau of Investigation for the assassination of Kabankalan Regional Trial Court Judge Henry Arles, said he has been discharging his function regularly as the chief executive.moremoremore

August power rates
up by P1 – CENECO

The Central Negros Electric Cooperative Inc yesterday announced that the residential average rate for August 2012 will increase from P9.80/kWhr to P10.80/kWhr.

It said this is due tothe unscheduled shut-down of KEPCO SPC’s generating or plant units 1 and 2 that lasted from June 21 up to July 10, Ceneco manager Sulpicio Lagarde said in a press release.

CENECO is imploring the understanding of its consumers, saying that the involuntary increase for August 2012 was only forced upon it by KSPC’s power generation predicament, the press release said.moremoremore
