Three armed suspects, who allegedly robbed two collectors of a lending firm, are now in jail, after their arrest Friday during a pursuit operation at Hacienda Guadalupe, in Brgy. Ayungon, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.
Chief Inspector Eduardo Corpus, La Carlota police chief, yesterday identified the three as suspects as Neil Alera, 33; Romeo Martisano and Ronald Osorio, both 28, of Hacienda Guadalupe.
Corpus said three suspects were arrested by members of the La Carlota police, who responded to the robbery-hold-up incident, after being informed by a concerned citizen.
La Carlota police investigation showed that the suspects, who carried a .38 caliber revolver and bladed weapons, held up Lorie Jane Castociano,24, and Rojohn Bongalon,20, both collectors of the RSP Lending Corp, and divested them of cash and valuable items.
While fleeing, the three suspects, were intercepted and arrested by the La Carlota police, who recovered more than P5,000 in cash, a knapsack , shoulder bag and cellular phones, that they had stolen from the victims, Corpus said.
Alera, who reportedly owned the confiscated gun, was also tagged as a suspect in the series of hold-up incidents in San Enrique town, with Indian nationals as victims.
The police has been intensifying its visibility operations, because of an increase in robbery-hold-up incidents in Negros Occidental.* GPB
