Medalla to get school building

A 2-storey school building similar to that of the Sum-ag Elementary School will soon rise in the Medalla Integrated School campus in Bacolod City, a press release from City Hall said.

The announcement was made by Bacolod Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, on behalf of Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Friday before more than 800 elementary school pupils at the MIS.

Sayson, along with Councilors Em Ang, Al Victor Espino and Caesar Distrito, told school principal Allan Ellera, District 7 supervisor Grace Abao, Parents Teacher Association president Peregrina Magbanua, teachers and parents, that the bidding is ongoing and that the l2-classroom edifice is expected to be delivered before December.

Apart from housing elementary pupils, Medalla's campus also accommodates high school students.

Two years ago, the city financed the construction of the Pl8 million 3-storey Sum-ag Elementary School building which replicates the Bacolod City Government Center.

Medalla's will be similarly financed by the city, according to Espino, the release said.

Sayson also announced that P250,000 was ready for the gate and perimeter fence of Medel Elementary School and P5,000 for the perimeter fence of Villa Esperanza Elementary School.*
