Security guards claim benefits
from agency, bank after dispute

Seven security guards of Visa Security Agency and General Services assigned at the branches of Green Bank Inc. received yesterday their claims that totaled P654,752.41, the Department of Labor and Employment said in a press release.

Region 6 Labor Regional Director Ponciano Ligutom ordered the release of claims after the Green Bank Inc. deposited the amount with the cashier of the DOLE.

Visa Security Agency and General Services is a Mindanao-based agency that has a contract with Green Bank Inc. in its branches at Bacolod, Silay, and La Carlota City, the press release said.

‘No more issuance
of PUJ franchises'

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board is no longer accepting new franchise applications for public utility jeeps in Bacolod City but they are giving special permits to apprehended colorum units, LTFRB regional director Romolu Bernardes, said yesterday.

Bernardes said that they are following the route measurement capacity that determines the allowable number of PUJs allowed to travel at a certain route, and for Bacolod City, the number PUJs operating and plying all routes complement the needs of the riding public.

However, the LTFRB is giving special permits to operators of arrested colorum units since they have been operating and are included in the RMC survey, he said.

42 new paravets
to serve Neg. Occ.

The Provincial Veterinary Office of Negros Occidental recently trained 42 para-veterinarians from 11 local government units who will conduct animal health extension services in remote areas of their communities.

Azeneth Dimaandal, paravet coordinator, said yesterday that the new paravets are replacements for those who are inactive.

“We need to fill in the vacated position at once because the province is continuously dispersing animals to all sectors and paravets are needed to help PVO in the extension services,” she said.
