Broadcaster, 10 others hurt

A broadcaster and six members of his family, were hurt, when their vehicle figured in accident Sunday at the national highway of Brgy. Guinhalaran, Silay City, police said yesterday.

Investigation by the Silay police showed that the Suzuki multi-cab vehicle driven by Lauro Trinidad, anchorman-reporter of DYHB, hit the gmelina trees and concrete island, when it skidded on the slippery road, on the way to Bacolod City.

Aside from Trinidad, his wife, Johnna, 36; sons, Solharie John,18; and Lexter, 15, daughter, Shanelle,7, Ana Rose Balandra and Jaypee Ojoylan, also suffered bruises, lacerated wounds, hematoma, and back pains, after the accident.

The victims were rushed to the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay.

Three security guards and a passenger also suffered minor injuries, when armored car of the Land Bank of the Philippines that they were riding, turned turtle at the highway of Brgy. Tiling, Cauayan, Negros Occidental.

The armored car driven by Ronillo Ticar, was on its way to Bacolod from Sipalay City, when a motorcycle suddenly crossed its way, causing to the accident.

Those who suffered minor injuries were identified as Emmanuel Alo, Radji Labawan and Roberto Mamay, all security guards of the armored van, and Harlam Laz. * GPB
