More than 80,000 members of the Social Security System have settled their overdue loan obligations and benefited from condoned penalties amounting to P590.79 million under an ongoing amnesty program that is set to end in a month, an SSS press release said.
SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Emilio de Quiros Jr. said collectible amounts from 80,994 borrowers who availed themselves of the Member Loan Penalty Condonation Program totaled P1.03 billion, which includes the principal, interest and outstanding penalties.
De Quiros urged delinquent borrowers to take advantage of the condonation program to avoid having their loan balance deducted from their future benefits for retirement, total disability or death.
Bacolod tops Region 6 LGUs
in real property tax collections
Bacolod City topped other local government units in Region 6 in Real Property Tax collections, the recent REGATA6 held in Iloilo City showed.
This was relayed to Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia by City Treasurer Annabelle Badajos who attended the REGATA6, with other provincial, cities, municipalities' Treasurers and Assessors of the region, in Iloilo recently, a press release from the city said.
REGATA6 is the Regional Association of Treasurers and Assessors in Region 6 chaired by OIC Regional Director Melba Sullivan who named Bacolod number one in Real Property Taxes, with an annual target of P338.80 million, an annual collection of P280.51 million and a collection efficiency of 82.79 percent.
