The charges were filed against Mark Joseph Hugo, 34, of Purok Lubi, Brgy. 3; Niño Cubellas, 33, of Purok 4 Sitio Magsungay, Brgy. Singcang-Airport; and Nobel Cuadra, 22, of Purok Sigay in Brgy. 2, Bacolod, case investigator Senior Police Officer 1 Dante Victor Escorpion, said.

Bangquiro immediately reported the incident to the police and this led to the arrest of Hugo, while “alias Mayong” escaped by climbing the wall of the nearby Andres Bonifacio Elementary School 1, the police said.

Cubellas was apprehended after he and his two unidentified companions robbed the house of Joseph Anthony Fuentabella, 46, of 19th Aguinaldo Street, Brgy. 4, Bacolod City, the owner of the apartment rented by Bangquiro.

An additional charge for direct assault upon agent of person in authority was also filed against Cubellas after he fired at Escorpion and his companions with a shotgun.

Meanwhile, theft charges were filed against Cuadra for stealing the bag of Evangeline Hecita, 57, of Maso Street, Brgy. Villamonte, who she was at the wake of her sister-in-law, at the Rolling Hills Memorial Chapels Monday.

Hecita’s bag, which contained her personal belongings and wallet with P750 in cash, was recovered from Cuadra during her arrest by the team of Insp. Asension Ortizo.*RQB
