Swindler victimizes
students, teachers

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

The police yesterday urged victims of estafa in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, to lodge formal complaints against the suspect identified as a certain Richard Santos Reyes.

Supt. Harold Tuzon, San Carlos police chief, yesterday said the Reyes was employed for two to three months the Tanon College, using fake credentials.

Initial police investigations show that Reyes, who reportedly came from Mindanao, victimize teachers and students of Tanon College, and two other schools in San Carlos City.

Until now however, Tuzon said only three complainants who had lost computer laptops, cellular phones, aside from cash, have surfaced and lodged formal complaints against the suspect, who is nowhere to be found.

There are claims that the suspect also managed to swindle cash from his victims ranging from P2,500, to P100,000, he added.

Tuzon said he will coordinate with other law enforcement agencies, for the apprehension of the suspect, after an arrest warrant is issued against him.* GPB
